Tutor for iMovie 10 App Reviews

This is a great tutorial for the new iMovie. The lessons are well put together and concise.

For everyone who downloaded Mavericks then got slapped in the face with a whole new iMovie . . . this app solves all your problems. Divided into logical chapters one can access just the information needed without having to sit through the whole app presentation. The new interface is expertly explained. Now I’m glad iMovie replaced iMovie ’11. This app rocks and is worth three times the price.

Overall this is a great tutorial but one item wasn’t completely addressed, the topic in this title. In particular the ability to fade in/out of the audio in the timeline as well as keyframe adjustments of audio in the timeline.

A very helpful tutorial for someone like me who had know idea what he is doing! really allowed me to get stuck into making movies. I’ll even forgive the part where Dan thinks a Hare and a Totouise icon is a rabbit and a turtle. Excellent job mate!

I was irritated when I upgraded to Mavericks and suddenly I found a new version of iMovie! I had just reached the comfortable level with iMovie 11, and here I was with another new version! Grrrrrrrr! While searching for a manual or PDF on this new version, I ran across a recommendation for this app. I decided to give it a try, and right now I’m half way through the videos and I’m thrilled with my decision to buy this app. Each aspect is explained in detail with a great video and instruction. I’m very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone who would like to use the new version of iMovie without tearing the hair out of their head in frustration.

This is a great tutorial, it is quite complete and it makes it fun working with iMovie projects.

I have downloaded a few of the “tutor” apps and they are always well made and very helpful. I had a question about some audio issues I’ve been having in the new iMovie and Dan took the time to help me with the problem and even send me a screen shot of what to look for! Thanks for all your hard work it is greatly appreciated.

I, like a lot of people was lost with the redesign. When I saw this in the app store I prompltly purchased it and haven’t looked back! I realized after digging into the tutorial that many of the features I thought were lost were still there. Excellent format and easy to follow. Keep up the good work!

Don’t make the same mistake I did. I bought another tutorial first, listened to the first two sessions, and bought this app. The training is thorough, detailed and brought down to the level that I can understand being long time in still photography but new to movie making. The training starts with vocabulary and continues step-by-step through all the aspects of the program. I’m on my second time through now. I highly recommend this app.

Had purchased a “manual” and an iLife book to learn iMovie and was completely frustrated. Came across the Tutor for iMovie app and thought why not. It was spot on - simple, clear, easy to follow lesson and flow of information. Learned a good, functional, working knowledge of how to get around iMovie and get to work on my projects in just a few sessions. Recommend highly.

I really appreciate this tutorial making a really great app even easier to use. I read it through before starting and then referred to it when things were a little foggy to me. I keep it on my dock right next to the iMovie star. Each time I use it, I learn a little more and the application becomes clearer. So far I’ve completed six movies and find it a great way to share volley ball and basketball games with friends and family…

I used the old system 9 iMovies for years in my professional life as a video designer, but when I upgraded to the retina MacBook Pro I had to leave the old iMovies behind and make the switch to the new versions. I was completely flummox, the new interface bore no resemblance to anything I had to work with before, and I needed to get up to speed quickly for a new project I had just landed. I basically had 48 hours to get it up and get it on. I know I could not have done it with out this tutorial, I even downloaded to other tutorials and watched them too, comparing subjects covered and the completeness of the explanations. This is the winner hands down. The segments are short and to the point which makes reviewing topics ease. Highly recommend it for newbie and seniors.

The Short Review: Buy Tutor for iMovie and learn the great things iMovie can do. The Long Reivew: My story of how I saved $289 and, likely, a week or more of frustrations. I had been a long-time user of Final Cut Pro (FCPro), though haven’t used it in a few years. And, of using FCPro, I figured it out on my own, too, taking months to learn the many different things within FCPro. Now, during those years, I upgraded OS X and, of recent, to Yosemite (OS X v10.10) when I purchased a 27” iMac. Well, my older copy of FCPro doesn’t work with Yosemite, yet I had a video production I needed to do. So, I figured iMove would task it. Well, iMovie changed dramatically from the (quite) older version I used to use (in OS X 10.6). Candidly, I’m getting older to, and I’m not as apt to want to “figure things out on my own” anymore. Thus, I wasn’t wanting to purchase the newer FCPro for $299 and need to spend time relearning stuff. That, and of late, tutorials have kinda become my new-found friend. As such, I checked out the reviews for the various iMovie tutorials, and Tutor for iMovie had the highest ratings. Consequently, I spent the $9.99 fo Totur for iMove and spent the next 3 hours going through most it’s tutorial. It was very enjoyable listening to someone else as they explained to me the things I was seeking to learn. I Iearned what I needed, and more, about iMovie to achieve doing my video production and I was able to complete my video production in a bit over an hour. So, rather than spend $299 on FCPro and spend likely days and days trying to refigure it out, I spend $9.99, saving $289. On top of that, within 5 hours, which included the 3 hours in Tutor for iMovie, and not spending up to a week in FCPro, I both learned and completed my video production. Thanks, Dan. I think this and other tutorials by Noteboom are great. I only wished that they hired a professional voiceover actor. This speaker slurs his words and glosses over vowels in a way that sometimes makes it hard to understand. Aside from that, I can heartily recommend this app.

I’ve been looking for help with creating a movie for quite some time. iMovie seemed to have everything I needed, but on the other hand I didn’t know how to use it and I didn’t want to blunder my way through it. This app has helped me understand and apply all that iMovie has to offer. The app is broken down into easy to understand chapters. The one thing I don’t know yet is how easy it will be to find needed help within the app when I need it.

iMovie used to be intuitive and didn’t really need addition tutoring. However, the new version of iMovie isn’t all that intuitive and Tutor for iMovie is a provides welcome support and provides the information needed to be able to use all the functions of the newest version of iMovie.

In the past, I’ve used PC studio software and have struggled with using the Mac. Since my previous software was not available for the mac, I needed a lot of help getting started with iMovie. With this tutorial, I now understand iMovie and really like the functions and features. The tutorial pace is very good, and the content is excellent. I like the demonstrations and video examples. I had iMovie open while going through the tutorial and used what I learned on my own project as I went along. I’m very happy I decided to purchase this app. It’s well worth the money and alleviated a lot of frustration. Thank you!
